Measuring carbon emissions from the degradation of tropical forests
In the province of Bandundu (north-east of Kinshasa, DRC), CAP collected dendrometric data in the field to quantify the carbon stored in different forest plots.
An annual follow-up of the same plots enables to deduce the carbon emissions released to the atmosphere in case of degradation of the forest.
Adaptation, creativity and enthusiasm were the keywords to carry out this one-month mission. Data are in the process of analysis.
