CAP was present on June 26 and 27 on the Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct organized by the OECD and spoke in particular about the development of a new ISO standard on sustainable procurement. It assessed the interests of businesses and consumers in the development of such a norm and considered the next steps. Over 90 distinguished speakers representing policy makers, businesses, trade unions, and civil society came together with over 600 practitioners to provide insights and exchange experiences about today’s core challenges and opportunities in advancing responsible business conduct worldwide. In addition, over 60 Ministers and high-level participants attended the first-ever Ministerial Meeting on Responsible Business Conduct to discuss how governments can lead by example in promoting responsible business practices. The draft Summary Report of this Global Forum (attached) will be incorporated in the forthcoming 2014 Annual Report on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
